Look: The Black Rabbit Devil’s Reef jacket is an unusual coat in many respects. While most of Black Rabbit’s garments share similarities with military classics, this has more in common with a Buddhist monk’s robes. When closed, it actually looks like an oversized military anorak.
Fit: Even though the coat is roomy, it still follows the shape of the body. The sleeve construction allows for a great deal of comfort.
Construction: The jacket features an asymmetric closure and kimono-style sleeves with inserts for movement. In terms of shoulder construction, jackets usually have a seam that runs along the top of the shoulder down the outside of the sleeve. One of the main downside of that seam is that it can facilitate water ingress. The kimono style sleeves of this jacket only have the lower seam. To compensate for the lack of the upper seam, a gusset is inserted in the armpit.
Fabric: The 2×2 twill is tightly woven from very fine high-twist yarns for a superior finish. The unattached lining, also made from cavalry-twill, allows the jacket to dry quicker.
Trim: Details on the Black Rabbit Devil’s Reef jacket include twin drawstrings, storm-flap on the hood, zipper pockets on the front, and hidden rib cuffs inside the sleeves.
