Shuttle

A device that carries the weft yarn back and forth across the loom. The shuttle carries a small bobbin of weft yarn that interlaces with the warp. The selvage formed at the edge of the fabric is called a “fast selvage” because the pick is not cut. Selvage denim must be woven with a shuttle.
