Open End Spinning

A spinning process where fibers are fed into a high-speed rotor shaped like a cup. The end of a yarn is placed inside and drawn out as the fibers accumulate on the “open end”. Open-end yarns are not as strong as ring spun yarns of the same size because some of the fibers do not lie parallel to the axis of the yarn.
