The Netherlands’ VIF Jeans recently hosted a barber shop themed event where guests also could get their shoes shined and leather gear tattooed

Regional trends in the denim community become evident every now and then. A growing movement in The Netherlands – where leather boots and high cuffs have long been in fashion – is to mash-up barber shops with raw denim.

Our Dutch friends, the Stranded Sailors have been hosting a few barber shop themed events lately. The last weekend of September saw the guys from VIF Jeans in Rijssen in the Eastern part of The Netherlands hosted their very own barber shop themed event; the Barbers & Shoes.

Owner Wouter Reimert invited Amsterdam based barber Martijn Proemstra. While Martijn took care of the whiskers, sales manager of Red Wing Heritage Matthijs van Meurs took care of the shoe shining. A friend of Wouter’s, tattooist Dennis Tuparia was also there to do the obligatory tattooing on any and all leather goods.
