The Levi’s Denim Tuxedo

 In Apparel

To most people, Bing Crosby is synonymous with christmas tunes, but to many denim heads his also a pioneer in making jeans and denim (especially his favourite brand, Levi’s) into fashion wear. But not everybody accepted his denim appearance right away …

The story goes like this: On a hunting trip to Canada in 1951, Crosby was refused admittance because of his denim outfit at a Vancouver hotel by the desk clerk. Only when a bellhop recognised the celebrity was he given a room. When Levi’s got hold of the story they produced a special denim tuxedo for Crosby to prevent similar incidents.
