Iron Heart’s Yard Built Yamaha XJR1300 Features 21 Oz. Denim
Iron Heart Is the Biker Denim Brand. So, Naturally They’ve Built Their Own Bike – and You Can Get One Too If You Put In the Work
From the rebellious Marlon Brando in the Wild One, the uniform of the rebel was set. Blue jeans, white tee, a Perfecto jacket and of course, a motorbike.
For almost a century, motorcycles and denim have enjoyed a symbiotic relationship. It’s no wonder Yamaha chose Iron Heart as their partner for their latest Yard Built project.
Yamaha XJR1300 Yard Built By Iron Heart and Ken’s Factory
Yamaha’s Yard Built programme works with brands, builders and customisers to realise inspirational ideas on transforming modern Yamaha motorbikes into unique Yard Built Specials. They have already worked with some names you might recognise including Wrenchmonkees and Deus.
Iron Heart was born out of the desire to make clothing for bikers. So this collaboration with Yamaha is a match made in heaven. Like all Iron Hearts products, the modified Yamaha XJR1300 bike finds its beauty in its functionality. Iron Heart founder, Shinichi Haraki explains the design:
“What I wanted to achieve was a beautiful café racer that fits perfectly into the Iron Heart universe. Nothing has been modified or added that makes it shout more than it should, there is no design influence without function. It’s a real bike for grown-ups.”
Iron Heart worked with the Japanese custom house Ken’s Factory to realise their vision. The result is a beautiful hand-crafted aesthetic balanced by modern technology. It perfectly represents what both brands are all about.
An Iron Heart Bike Without Denim? Forget it!
Naturally, being an Iron Heart bike, there has to be some denim in there somewhere. The seat is hand upholstered with their signature 21 oz. denim and set with pure silver rivets. Instead of your exposed rivets making a hole in your leather seat, your seat will make holes in you! Or at least some interesting fade possibilities.
If you feel inspired to go and have a tinker with your bike, all these parts will soon be available as aftermarket parts. You can go as far as to create your own version of the Iron Heart bike. Get the part at Ken’s Factory here.
